The Rainforest of Ecuador is at stake. Every day thousands of endangered plants and animals are hunted and exploited extensively, many of which are smuggled across borders. Fundación Fauna de la Amazonía works within the Llanganates-Sangay Ecological Corridor, one of the top biodiverse areas of Ecuador. Here we are developing a wildlife rescue centre while working closely with other conservation projects in the Pastaza Region. We believe in rehabilitation and reforestation, research and education. We strive to protect nature alongside other groups and individuals fighting for the same cause.
All of the projects that we work with are maintained and funded by volunteers, whom are a vital part of the work team of each centre. For more information on the projects we work with read the VOLUNTEER section. These volunteer projects are aimed at all people fascinated with the natural world and its creatures, at all people who want to contribute to saving a part of the Amazon Rainforest, a place of natural wonder and beauty, of inestimable importance to world ecology.

We now have a recognised/registered charity based in the United Kingdom to support our future work here in Ecuador! It is called Flor de la Amazonía Group and you can read more about their work on (www.flordelaamazonia.org). It is directed by a committed and supportive group of people in the UK who are planning to continue to support our work here in a number of ways. This includes fundraising, talking to other groups, schools, colleges and universities about our work, and planning to attract and support future volunteers. They have just achieved recognition for tax purposes and continue to develop the organisation.
If you would like to be involved or to find out further information, please contact Gary Rose at gary.rose@flordelaamazonia.org or support@flordelaamazonia.org.
