WHO WE ARE
The Flor de la Amazonía Animal Rescue Group is a team of experienced, committed and qualified individuals who have lived and worked with the endangered animals of Ecuador for a number of years in a range of locations.
Currently we are assisting the work of various conservation projects in the Pastaza province, whilst working towards developing a new rescue and rehabilitation centre for the Flor de la Amazonía Animal Rescue Group in the area.
All of the projects that we work with are maintained and funded by volunteers, whom are a vital part of the work team of each centre. For more information on the projects we work with read the VOLUNTEERING section.
These volunteer projects are aimed at all people fascinated with the natural world and its creatures, at all people who want to contribute to saving a part of the Amazon Rainforest, a place of natural wonder and beauty, of inestimable importance to world ecology.
We offer volunteers the opportunity to experience life in jungle surroundings whilst working closely and directly with native wildlife of Ecuador, and to participate in a wide variety of activities orientated to benefit the endangered animals, plants and the communities living in this beautiful part of the world.

The Flor de la Amazonía Animal Rescue Group is at the final stage of recognition as a Non-Governmental Organisation ("Fundación") with the Ecuadorian Government (Ministerio del Ambiente). The name agreed with the Ministry is Fundación Fauna de la Amazonía. Currently a series of informal meetings are being held in order that the Directive Team of the organisation are able to have an opportunity to hold less formal discussions about the aims, objectives, progress and planning for the organisation, environmental, flora and fauna protection issues and other topics of mutual interest.

We now have a recognised/registered charity based in the United Kingdom to support our future work here in Ecuador! It is called Flor de la Amazonía Group and its registered number is SC 040950. It is directed by a committed and supportive group of people in the UK who are planning to continue to support our work here in a number of ways. This includes fundraising, talking to other groups, schools, colleges and universities about our work, and planning to attract and support future volunteers. They have a website in preparation (www.flordelaamazonia.org) and have a formed other networks including using twitter and facebook. They have just achieved recognition for tax purposes and continue to develop the organisation.
